Go Pirates!
Last Saturday was a great day for baseball, and want to thank everyone for coming out to our opening weekend! We were able to plate 13 runs, besting Osceola 13-2. Overall collective effort from several pitchers on the mound contributed to the win, as well as an Evan Bayer home run. Record to start the 2021 season is 1-0 overall, 1-0 in the SCVBL.
5/22 – This coming Saturday, we have the Hubbers coming to town. A heads up and reminder, we have pushed this start time back to 3PM, due to a game being played before ours.
5/23 – Hudson comes into Prescott to wrap up our start to the season mini home-stand. This game will start at our normal 1PM time slot we’re all used to.
It’s looking like another great weekend for baseball! Concession stand will be open and grill will be hot! See you all there!

We’re 4 days away from our 2021 season opener! We had to make an adjustment to our game against Osceola on Saturday due to there being a double header earlier in the afternoon, so we’ll have a day full of baseball!
Our game will begin at 4PM following the double header. YES, we will be selling beer! Concession stand will be open all day! It should be a great weekend for baseball and hope to see all of you this weekend!

River City Stitch has done a great job (again) this year in making Pirate clothing and merchandise available for our fans to get their hands on! Find the link below to see what is available!
Hello Pirates fans! The 2021 schedule has just been posted, pending a few changes/additions as we get closer to May. We’re excited to bring more baseball to Prescott this summer, after all of the struggles faced by everyone in 2020.
We have no “official” word from the county as of yet, but all signs are pointing towards concession and beer sales for the 2021 season! Something we’ve all been anticipating for quite some time. More to come on this as we learn more.
We’re excited to see you all this summer!

Coming off of the state tournament weekend, we ended up winning our first game against the Brill Millers last Friday night 8-3. Our next game we played Saturday evening at 4:30, ended up losing to CCV 8-5, which ended up knocking us out and not advancing. In a year full of struggles, we want to thank all of our fans and other supporters for making this season happen for us! We look forward to coming back next year and competing for a league and state title once again!
A special thank you to all of our sponsors this year who made everything possible for us, in a year we know was full of struggle. The Pirates appreciate all of you more than you know and look forward to supporting you for years to come!

Please read per the City of Spooner:
“COVID PRECAUTIONS: The City of Spooner passed a resolution in early August to allow us to continue as a host as long as certain practices are followed and enforced: Masks are mandatory for everyone outside the playing field, all persons in attendance will be required to sign a contact tracing form upon entry, social distancing to the best of your ability. The contact tracing sheets will only be used if there is a person who subsequently tests positive and notifies the Washburn Co. Health Department. The facility is owned by the City of Spooner, so we must abide by their rules and regulations. We will have hand sanitizer stands and masks available for those who don’t have one upon entry. We will NOT be supplying water jugs in either dugout for the tournament and teams are encouraged to drink out of individual water bottles or bring their own jug, per the City’s request. We ask that everyone be respectful of their regulations, whether you agree with them or not. This was a small concession for us to remain as a host site for all the work that has been put in by the Spooner Cardinals and others to make this event possible.”
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
We are advancing to the WBA State Tournament this coming weekend after 3 wins in the SCVBL tournament a weekend ago. The seeding meeting was held last night, where we were given the #7 overall seed for the tournament. The format of the tournament this year changed a bit, as we moved to a double elimination, pool play tournament. Along with us, the other teams in our pool are CCV (#2) and Brill (#10).
We’ll be playing Brill on Friday, at 6:30PM in Spooner. Winner/loser of this game will go on to play CCV on Saturday at either 10:30AM (loser of Friday), or 4:30PM (winner of Friday).
We’ve decided to draft a couple of players that we think will help our team a lot, welcoming Tony Garner and Hunter Black of the Plum City Blues.
