Hey everybody!
It’s that time of year again, Plum City 2018! We will begin our season this Saturday, May 26th in the annual Plum City Tournament! We start 2018 play against River Falls at 3PM Saturday afternoon, and are excited to get this summer underway! We know you all travel well with us, especially this weekend, so we’re excited to see you all there!
Go Pirates!
Hello everybody!
We hope you’re all just as ready for some baseball as we are! We have just posted our 2018 schedule on the website! We know a lot of you have been curious about when you’ll get a glimpse at it, sorry for the wait! The schedule is finalized, of course pending a few changes that might be made before the season actually starts. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone this summer!

We just finished up the regional round of the WBA playoffs Sunday afternoon and came away with two big wins! Saturday afternoon we took on the Interwald Woodticks, winning that game 5-1 behind an outstanding performance by our drafted player Cody Leitner. Cody through all 9 innings and recorded 8 strikeouts on the day. Several players had multiple hits that game as we went on to win.
Our next match-up was Sunday afternoon against the Whitehall Wolves. This game was far and away the definition of a pitchers duel. Eric Munson was on the mound for us, and as usual, dominated the game. Only giving up 2 hits and 1 walk in his shutout performance. Mike Brookshaw drove in our first run of the game in the bottom of the 6th inning on a base hit to left. The outcome ended up 4-0 in our favor, along with an advancement to the State tournament in Viroqua.
Our first game will be played Saturday afternoon at 1:30PM against the Osseo Merchants. We’re looking forward to this match-up and the coming weekend! Thanks again to all of the support from traveling and non-traveling fans!

After the seeding meeting was held last night, we found out all of the information for the regional round of playoffs which will be held August 11-13. We were put in the lower right portion of the bracket and will play August 12th at 3PM in Rib Lake. It isn’t listed, but we will be playing the Interwald Woodticks (5-7). You can also see the weekend schedule with the bracket that is attached. We know our fans always travel well, so we can’t wait to see you all there!
In addition, on behalf of the whole team, we would like to so thank you to all of our fans, as well as our sponsors for all of the support that we have been getting all season long! It most definitely does not go unnoticed!
The second season is just beginning, and we are excited about the team that we’re bringing into the playoffs (with an addition of our drafted player, Cody Leitner, from Bay City)!

We traveled to River Falls last night and took on the Fish in another league game. We were able to score a couple runs on passed balls as well as an RBI single late in the game, resulting in a 4-2 W for the Pirates. This bumps our overall record to 17-2 and a league record of 13-2. We have just one more league game to play, which will be held in New Richmond tomorrow afternoon at 1PM.
Just a couple short weeks until playoff baseball is here! The seeding meeting for playoffs will be held on Tuesday, August 1st at 7PM. By then we will know what seed we will have, who, where, and when we will be playing for the regional round.

We hit the ground running early in our win against the Expos last Sunday. Scoring a couple runs early in the first, as well as a few more going into the 3rd and 4th innings. One rough inning let the Expos back in as they clawed their way back to take a 7-6 lead in the 7th inning. Shortly after, sacrifice flies from Josh Marlow and Mike Lytle scored both Billy and Mike Brookshaw to take a 8-7 lead, and the win.
Our league record improves to 12-2, with an overall record of 16-2. We will continue play this Friday night against River Falls at 7:00PM, hope to see you all there!
Go Pirates!
Last night we traveled to Hastings for the “Border Battle”. Our bats woke back up after seeming to cool down last week. Our hit column totaled 18 on the night and ended up crossing 15 runs in our win against the Hawks.
Our overall record bumps to 14-2, and we continue league play tomorrow in Bay City at 1PM. Hope to see you all there!
Go Pirates!
Last Saturday we played our make-up game against Bay City that was supposed to be played at the beginning of the year. Eric Munson was the starting and winning pitcher of that game, with the team winning by a score of 5-1. The following day, we traveled to Plum City. Our bats didn’t seem as hot as they’ve been as we started off pretty slow. The Blues scored 5 runs early in the game when we started to make our comeback in the 6th. However, we couldn’t quite get enough runs across the plate, losing 6-4.
Our record moves to 13-2 overall and 10-2 in league play, which is still good enough for the top spot in the South Division.
Play will continue Friday night in Hastings for a non-league game against the Hawks at 8PM for the “Border Battle” as well as Sunday afternoon in Bay City at 1PM.
Go Pirates!
We just had to move our game to 2PM tomorrow, instead of 1PM. We had a scheduling conflict but able to get it resolved.
